My name is Lynne Fitzsimmons and dogs have been an integral part of my life for all of my 52 years. They have taught me immeasurable things: responsibility, respect, patience and determination. They have made me laugh from the heart countless times.
At the age of 14, I kindly agreed to emigrate to Australia from the UK with my parents if they agreed to get me my own dog. So began my life living loving and walking with dogs.
In the past my life with dogs has seen me do my share of training and trialling in obedience and agility, and confirmation showing and grooming. In practicing the common training methods I found myself looking for the missing link. I have read a plethora of material on "the dog" and still more on a variety of training and management methods.
Reading Jan Fennell's book "The Dog Listener" was a watershed moment for me. No book I had read before has ever rung so TRUE about dogs.
Like you, I consider myself a dog lover. As we all know, sometimes loving your dog is not enough; you need to understand what makes your dog tick. Through my study with Jan Fennell and the implementation of her method Amichien Bonding, my respect and admiration for the dog has grown tenfold. Three years down the track, my mission is to be the best teacher of Amichien Bonding that I can be. When dog owners reach out to me as a Dog Listener it is wonderful to know I am standing on firm ground.
There are no gadgets, gimmicks, coercion, or bullying. This is a simple, clear, calm way of communicating with your dog using their canine language. This is the language your dog will readily understand and respond to.
To provide, protect and lead is to know and love your dog.
